Chicago J20 Defense Fund

On January 20, 2017 over 200 people, fearing for the well-being of the country under the Trump presidency, took to the DC streets to demonstrate against Donald Trump and the bigotry he embodies and enflames. During the Inauguration Day protest, over 200 demonstraters were indiscriminately attacked, rounded up, and illegally arrest by MPD. While in police custody protesters were denied food, medical attention, water and in some cases suffered abuse, threats, and even sexual assault. In addition to these abuses, the protesters were then charged with 8 blanket felony charges and each face up to at least 75 years in jail; some facing even more.

The CHICAGO J20 DEFENSE FUND supports J20 defendants from Chicago. Our fund assists defendants with travel to court dates, legal fees, and anything else they need while fighting their cases. It’s extremely important to support our friends and comrades in times like these and to defend against state repression. Please consider sending a strong message to the Trump administration that we will not back down by making a one time or recurring donation to the Defense Fund.

We stand in solidarity with all of the defendants and demand that all of these politically motivated, repressive charges be dropped. #defendj20 #dropj20
